Winter 2012
What a wet November we have all had to cope with! Last years November rainfall was 18mm this year we on the east coast have had 82.5mm. This amount won’t seem much to the farmers on the west side of the country but it was enough to make things difficult.
The scrapes and ponds are overflowing with all the water and parts of the fields are too!
Here on the farm we are busy cutting red, white, savoy cabbage and swede ready for the Christmas order and bagging potatoes too. We have managed to get onto the fields to do some ploughing thanks to the sharp frosts we have just had and some muck spreading done too.
On a good note we have spotted some Roe deer in our wood so we hope for some young in the springtime.
Everyone here on New Farm would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.
