Spring/Summer 2013
After a cold late spring crops have now started to mature. We have cut the first cauliflower this week and hope the cabbage will follow in a weeks time.
All our cereals were drilled in the spring this year as it was much too wet to get on the fields in the Autumn. Thankfully the field beans look well and barley is coming into ear.
Our first cut of silage has been baled and wrapped ready to feed to the cattle in winter. We have two cows left to calve in the crew and as soon as they produce they will join the rest of the herd in the fields.
It was lovely to hear the swallows return. Although diminished in numbers they are nesting and we look forward to seeing young swallows sitting on the wires enjoying the sunshine.
